Alfred Walking Bull (Sicangu Lakota, they/he) is a former journalist, storyteller, fundraiser, and organizer originally from the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota who celebrated 12 years of recovery in September 2025.
As a Queer, Two Spirit, Indigenous person living in unceded territory of his Dakota relatives in Bde Ota Otunwe in Mnisota (Minneapolis, Minnesota), they understand that recovery comes in many forms and starts us on our healing journeys to recovery from substances and the event, people, or circumstances that led us to use.
